Fulton & City Services

  • ABOUT THE COMMISSION

The Fulton County Commission manages a budget of approximately $1.2 billion to provide a variety of services such as water for residents outside of Atlanta, libraries, animal services, arts and nonprofit funding, youth and senior services, tax assessor, elections, the health department, Fulton District Attorney, courts, jail, and the sheriff.

Generally, cities each provide police, fire, zoning, roads, parks, municipal court, and business licensing. Roswell & Alpharetta provide water services to a portion of their residents.

  • ABOUT DISTRICT 1

District 1 includes all of Fulton County east of Route 400 and north of Dunwoody, all of Johns Creek, approximately half of Alpharetta, East Roswell, and the small portion of Sandy Springs between Dunwoody and the Chattahoochee River.

In redistricting, District 1 added a section of Roswell from East Roswell to downtown Roswell, including the Groveway Community. The northern border runs along Houze Way, Mansell Road, Old Roswell Road, and Big Creek between Warsaw Road and Route 400. The southern boundary runs along Route 9 to Riverside Road.
